HomeI am an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Alabama, and an IZA Research Fellow. In 2021, I was a Visitng Professor at WU Wien (Vienna University of Economics and Business). I have a PhD in Economics from Cornell University, a MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics, and a BS in Computer Science from Taylor University. My research examines the potential of labor markets to enable people to work their way out of poverty. Too often, labor markets fail to live up to their potential, providing many opportunities to study the role of policy in both creating and correcting the inefficiencies. I use high-resolution datasets from many countries, including Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Malawi, Uganda, United States, and Tanzania. Other profiles: |
